Terms & Conditions

Information about appointments, treatment and what to expect when using Transition Vet Physio.

These terms and conditions apply to veterinary physiotherapy services provided by Transition Vet Physio (TVP), including clinic-based appointments and home visits.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Veterinary Referral

Before your pet's first consultation, a completed referral form is required from their registered veterinary practice. This provides relevant medical history and confirms that veterinary physiotherapy has been authorised by a veterinary surgeon.

Veterinary physiotherapy is carried out under the direction of a veterinary surgeon, as required by applicable legislation. I may contact your pet's veterinary practice for clarification or recommend a further veterinary examination before treatment can continue.

2. Appointments and Fees

The current prices published on the website are £70 for an initial consultation (approximately 90 minutes) and £50 for a follow-up consultation (approximately 60 minutes). Appointment durations are a guide and may vary according to your pet's needs.

Appointments are subject to availability. Fees and payment arrangements will be confirmed when booking, and any additional costs will be explained and agreed in advance.

3. Mobile and Clinic-Based Services

TVP provides clinic-based appointments and home visits. Home visit availability depends on current caseload, location and whether the environment is suitable for safe treatment. Where a home visit is not available or appropriate, a clinic appointment may be offered instead.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel an appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment will incur a £30 cancellation charge.

To cancel or rearrange an appointment, please contact TVP as soon as possible by phone or email. Cancellation charges will only be applied where fair, reasonable and permitted by law. Nothing in this policy affects any statutory cancellation rights you may have.

5. Illness and Infection Prevention

Appointments must be rearranged if your pet is experiencing vomiting and/or diarrhoea. Please contact TVP as soon as possible if your pet becomes unwell before a session. I may also postpone treatment where illness or another health concern makes the appointment unsuitable or unsafe.

6. Your Responsibilities

Please provide accurate information about your pet's medical history, medication, current symptoms and behaviour, and let me know about any changes before or during treatment.

You may be asked to help handle your pet safely during an appointment. For home visits, please provide a suitable and safe space for treatment. If you are given home exercises or management advice, please let me know if your pet experiences difficulties or discomfort.

7. Treatment and Consent

Treatment plans are tailored to each pet's needs and will be discussed with you. Your consent will be sought before treatment is carried out, and treatment may be adjusted or stopped if it is not suitable for your pet.

Every animal responds differently to veterinary physiotherapy, so specific results cannot be guaranteed. Veterinary physiotherapy supports, but does not replace, veterinary diagnosis or medical care. If your pet's condition worsens or urgent treatment is needed, please contact your veterinary practice.

8. Confidentiality and Veterinary Reports

Client and patient information is treated as strictly confidential and handled securely. To support your pet's ongoing care, relevant reports detailing the consultation, treatment provided and progress may be sent to the referring veterinary practice.

Information is not routinely shared with unrelated third parties. Any other disclosure will only take place where appropriately authorised, legally required or otherwise permitted by law, including where necessary for animal welfare. Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

9. Right to Decline or Discontinue Services

TVP reserves the right to decline, postpone or discontinue services where there is a reasonable clinical, welfare or safety concern. This may include circumstances where veterinary authorisation is not in place, treatment is not appropriate for the animal, the animal is unwell, or a safe treatment environment cannot be provided. Where reasonably possible, I will explain the decision and advise on appropriate next steps. Payments for services not provided will be dealt with fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

10. Refer-a-Friend Discount

Existing clients may receive 15% off their next treatment when they refer a new client to TVP. To qualify, the new client must mention the existing client's name when booking, and the referring client must have received treatment from TVP within the previous six months.

11. Questions or Complaints

If you have any questions or concerns about an appointment or treatment, please contact me so that I can review the matter and work towards a fair resolution.

12. Your Legal Rights

Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful, or affects your statutory consumer rights.

13. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The terms made available to you when your appointment is booked will apply to that booking, unless a change is agreed with you.
